In 1818 or 1820 built "Titcomb's Row" in Mayfield - the upper part of which was an 80 foot ballroom. The Methodists were invited to use this as a meeting room. The building burned in 1886 along with the hotel a store and several other buildings. Mr. Clark was an old-fashioned tavern keeper who built and kept the Pioneer Tavern at "The Corners" in Mayfield. The site of the old ballroom building was after rebuilding known as the Titcomb block. |
