Jacob Brown, Oppenheim

BROWN, JACOB H., Little Falls,
was born in Oppenheim, Fulton county, May 9, 1846.
His earlier years were spent on a farm. He kept a meat market in Dolgeville for
eight years; then for two years he was located at Ingham’s Mills, engaged in
the sewing machine business. Then for a time he was in the employ of the Warren
Machine Company, of Little Falls. Mr. Brown then entered the employ of the
Central Railroad company, with whom he remained fourteen years, filling many
important positions, such as conductor, train dispatcher, detective, etc. Mr.
Brown is at present engaged in the grocery business in Little Falls. He also
owns two dairy farms near Dolgeville. He is a member of several local social and
benevolent institutions. Mr. Brown has a family of six children, three sons and
three daughters.
